The method
A specialist's read on your biggest signature.
In a house purchase, a funding round or a severance agreement, the stronger hand belongs to whoever understood the paper first, and that is usually the side that wrote it. Marque reads the document the way their specialist did and hands you the verdict, the risks and the terms worth negotiating while your signature is still yours to give.
From Paper to Verdict
Three stepsFirst
Bring the Document
Upload a PDF, a Word file or a phone photo of the pages, or paste the text. An offer letter, a term sheet, a commercial lease, a trust and a tax notice all work. The document is read once and discarded.
Then
Let Marque Read
Marque reads it clause by clause: it decodes the terms that carry money and risk, pulls out every deadline printed in it, and sets each clause beside what's customary in the market.
Finally
Take the Playbook
You get a risk score from 0 to 100 and a bottom line, every red flag quoted from the exact language, a benchmark of your terms against the market and a negotiation playbook with the words to use. A brief for your attorney comes with it.
Whose Side It's On
Only Your Interest
Marque makes money from your document one way: your fee. It takes no agent's commission or lender's spread, no referral fee for sending you anywhere, and it never sells your data.
The Verdict Is Free
You see the risk score and bottom line before you pay, so you know whether the document is a problem at all. You pay only for the part you act on: the quoted findings, the benchmark and the playbook.
Read Once, Then Gone
Your document is read a single time to produce the report, then discarded. It is never stored, never sold, and never used to train any model.
Honest About Limits
Marque is your analyst and negotiation strategist, and it isn't a substitute for a licensed attorney. When your situation needs one, the report says so and names the kind of professional to call.
One Engine, Given Free
Marque is the premium edge of Plainsight, the free public tool that helps tenants, patients and borrowers read the documents stacked against them.
When you pay Marque to read your contract, you fund that free tool. A company built to put the weaker party on equal footing, and to give the same reading away to people who can't afford counsel, has no reason to read your contract for anyone but you. We earn by helping you, and what we earn helps people who can't pay.
Where Marque Stops
Marque explains what your documents say, benchmarks the terms and shows you what to negotiate. It does not provide legal advice. When a document needs a licensed attorney, an inspector or a tax advisor, the report says so and lists what to ask them. Some documents it declines outright: prenups, divorce settlements, litigation filings and tax planning go to the right professional instead.
